PhD (Solid State Physics)Petri is a director at RisCura UK, managing resource and service delivery from the African business. After training as a solid-state physicist he transferred his abilities from science to the financial services industry on joining RisCura in 2003. Responsible for upholding academic rigour throughout RisCura’s research processes, he also helped develop the company’s hugely successful in-house ALM model, supporting many successful deployments for South African investors over the past 10 years.

BSc (Hons) Actuarial Science, Fellow of the Institute of ActuariesAs Head of Research, Faisal’s way of thinking like an investor for the benefit of clients is invaluable. Well known in the investment community as an expert in manager research and selection, he is a key contributor to the direction and energy of RisCura’s investment process. Faisal has seen the investment arena from all angles: first as a consultant with Towers Perrin, then in asset management with Bramdean and most recently in-house at Coal Pension Trustees, where he was responsible for listed and private equity manager research and monitoring.

MBA (Business Management)With a passion for research, long-standing institutional relationships and a wealth of ‘on-the-ground’ experience in Emerging and Frontier markets, Josef is very well placed as Head of Africa Research, overseeing all of RisCura’s research and development in the sub-Saharan Africa ex South Africa region. Change is constant in the ever evolving SSA markets and Josef’s expertise coupled with RisCura’s approach to Africa research, tackle these changes head on by identifying investment ideas in global or local markets early enough to bring great benefit to clients. Josef’s professional history, knowledge and approach are perfectly aligned with RisCura, a firm that has a successful track record in advising African institutions in investing in Africa and a research approach biased towards understanding local dynamics.

BSC (Hons) Cum Laude (Theoretical Physics)A long-standing member of the RisCura family, Conrad has worked in both the Cape Town and Johannesburg offices in South Africa and has most recently moved to the UK office in London. His role as Client Service Manager places him in a position to ensure that the bespoke solutions synonymous with RisCura are delivered to clients accurately and timeously. Conrad’s financial and asset-liability modelling skills in particular, which go beyond simply understanding the complexity of models, make him a valuable addition to the UK team. He joined RisCura in 2008 straight from Stellenbosch University where he was working as a physics tutor while completing his undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
